Vehicles Affected: Approximately 8,700 model-year 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLE400 4Matic, GLE350 4Matic, GLE350, GLE550e 4Matic and GLS450 SUVs, and S550, S550e and S600 sedans; model-year 2017 Mercedes-AMG GLE63S 4Matic, GLE63S 4Matic coupe, GLE63 4Matic, GLE43 4Matic, GLE43 4Matic coupe and GLS63 4Matic SUVs, and S63 4Matic and S65 sedans; model-year 2017 Mercedes-Maybach S600 and S550 4Matic sedans; model-year 2017-18 Mercedes-Benz GLS550 4Matic SUVs and S550 4Matic sedans; model-year 2018 Mercedes-Benz S450 sedans; and model-year 2018 Mercedes-AMG S63 4Matic sedans

The Problem: The rear passenger door on the driver's side may indicate that it's locked when it may not be, increasing the risk of injury.

The Fix: Dealers will inspect the left rear door lock and replace it, as necessary, for free.

What Owners Should Do: Mercedes-Benz will begin notifying owners this month. Owners can call the automaker at 877-496-3691, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's vehicle-safety hotline at 888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov to check their vehicle identification number and learn more.
