What Does It Cost to Fill Up a 2018 Porsche Macan?

2018 porsche macan

higher pump prices recently have steered some suv shoppers to smaller models, such as a mid-size instead of a full-size model or a compact instead of a mid-size. that probably is not the case at porsche, however, where sales of the macan are up nearly 10 percent this year while the larger cayenne is down 25 percent. with the 2019 macan due to be unveiled at the end of july, 2018 macans will soon be priced to move off dealer lots — and into your driveway. but what does it cost to fill one up?

thanks to a drop this past week, not nearly as much. gas prices eased at least a little in most states but still were about 60 cents higher than a year ago amid continued uncertainty about whether they would go up or down in the coming weeks.

the aaa daily fuel gauge report said thursday that the national average for regular gas was $2.86, down 2 cents from a week ago. premium gas was down a penny to $3.41, and diesel fuel was also off a penny to $3.16.

the macan comes in base form with a 252-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. other models share a turbo 3.0-liter six-cylinder, but horsepower increases (along with the prices) on the higher-end versions: 340 horsepower on the s, 360 on the gts and 400 on the turbo. all models come with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and all-wheel drive, and all versions require premium.

here is what it would cost to fill the macan's 19.8-gallon tank based on the price of premium thursday:

  • using the national average, filling the tank from empty would cost $67.52.
  • in chicago, where premium averaged $4.14, the cost would rise to $81.97.
  • in nashville, tenn., where premium was $3.16, the cost would drop to less than $62.57.
  • the four-cylinder macan has an epa combined city/highway estimate of 22 mpg, giving it a range of 436 miles. the six-cylinder models are rated at 19 mpg and have a 376-mile range.

pump prices fell in most states this past week as oil prices slumped for a second week in a row. u.s. oil was trading at about $68.25 per barrel early thursday, down about $4.50 from two weeks ago. hawaii had the highest average price for regular on thursday, $3.78, followed by california at $3.64. regular averaged more than $3 in 10 other states. neighboring states alabama and mississippi had the lowest average, $2.55, with south carolina next at $2.56.
